As an educator-ally with underserved populations; my teaching, scholarship, and service are dedicated to transforming discourses, policies, and practices that disenfranchise and disempower real lives. In 2016, I co-founded ‘Undocumented Allies of North Carolina’ with some of her students who are DACA recipients.

I currently serve on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Community Equity Committee where I  co-chair the human resources and leadership subcommittee as well as I co-chair the Southeast Asian Coalition (SEAC) Village Board. As a proponent of culturally relevant teaching, I am leading a collaborative initiative that proposes to require an African Diaspora seminar as a foundational course for freshmen students within the University College at JCSU.
